NEW YORK FASHION WEEK A/W 2010

The Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of ARISE Magazine, Nduka Obaigbena, invited me to show my Fall 2010 collection at Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week as part of the ARISE African collective 3.
This is extremely exciting for me. I always thought something of the magnitude would happen to me much much later on in my career but it’s here now and i am embracing every minute of it!!
But having said that i also want send a special thank you to Jan Malan for believing in me and for watching my progress through these years and trusting me enough to put my name forward as an emerging designer.
I am completely blown away by this; about how my dream is about to come true and i all i have to do is sit and smile because if i move one inch i might just break. This feeling is so over my level of understanding, i cannot say in words what my soul is doing.
To my family and close circle of friends, i adore each and eveyone of you. You know where all this came from… i love you all. My success is your success.
Ringi Ndlovu thank you for being there even in the ugly times. i love you always for being ‘that sister’

I am so proud of you and this is really exciting. Ani, this is just the beginning. Success is inevitable when you combine talent, hardwork and determination. Just when i think i know what LCA is all about, you pull out something unique and new out of your “creative Mary Poppins bag”. I love that! This collection is probably my favourite. Its sophisticated, feminine and undeniably sexy. Brilliant.
